Dr. Kimberly Wood is a Researcher V in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She earned her PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience from UAB. She graduated with her bachelor's in science with Honors in Psychology at UAB. Outside of the lab, Kimberly enjoys hiking with friends and spending time with family.

Alexandria Jones is a clinical research coordinator at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and trying out new restaurants.

Skylar Morriss earned her B.S. in Psychology and Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is currently a licensed social worker. Her research interests are centered around life outcomes in schizophrenia, symptom monitoring in functional seizures, the effects of sleep on adolescent obesity, and child safety. She enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her cat, Harry.

Courtney Thomas joined UAB as a Clinical Research Coordinator in 2023 after working as a dental hygienist for 8 years and joined the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology in 2025. She is now furthering her education in psychology and learning sciences at UAB. Outside of work, she regularly volunteers at the Birmingham Zoo, enjoys playing video games and board games with her husband, spending time with her pet bird and chihuahua, and going on weekend shopping trips.

Graduate Students
Hyun Freeman is a graduate student in the Medical/Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She graduated with her bachelor's in science in Psychology with a minor in neuroscience from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She enjoys baking, spending time outdoors, and spending time with her family.
Maria Stǎnicǎ earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. She is currently a graduate student in the Medical/Clinical Psychology PhD Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her research interests are centered around negative symptoms in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder using structural neuroimaging techniques. She enjoys reading, baking, making puzzles, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with friends and her cat, Luna.
Xueling Zeng is a graduate student in the Applied Developmental Psychology Doctoral Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She earned her master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh. Her research focuses on advancing knowledge in neurocognition and social cognition among people with HIV (PWH). She enjoys travelling, coffee, and solving puzzles.
Tamanna Patel is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Master's in Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She enjoys playing the cello, reading, and learning languages.
Holden Rosberg is a graduate student in the Medical/Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He graduated with his B.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University. While in San Diego, he worked as a laboratory assistant at the University of California San Diego and as a counselor at a residential treatment center. He is broadly interested in studying social impairment in schizophrenia. Holden enjoys reading and discussing philosophy, exercising, and spending time with friends and family.
